Dog-sitting this month
Posted by: | CommentsI’m dog-sitting this month for some friends who are gone on a 4 week adventure. The dog is the most adorable animal I know. He’s 11 years old but happy go lucky. Just such a joy to be around. It’s funny how an animal can bring out the feeling of joy and remove stress just with their presence. Here is a picture of Gomez.
A Quick Vacation
Posted by: | CommentsI’m out of here for a long weekend. My hubby planned the whole weekend and all he asked is that I don’t bring a computer.
Salzburg Excursion – Salzburger Freilichtmuseum
Posted by: | CommentsThis weekend we did some exploring around Salzburg area. On Sunday, we visited the open-air Museum of Freilchtmuseum. It was a nice day and we just wanted to get out and explore a bit. Most of the information was in German and my German is very simplistic. From what I understand, the park is setup for exploring what Austria was link in the 1400-1600. It was wonderful. Homes were taken apart from different areas of Austria and painstakingly reassembled in the park in different area.
There was a historical Pub that we had planned to visit. In route, we heard music and people so we went to investigate. We found a traditional band playing with locals dancing in traditional costumes (Lederhosen and Dirndls). It’s not unusual actually to see the locals where traditional dress, it’s quite common at weddings, church and special events. But I had not seen the dancing before. So we decided instead to eat some of food they had available, watching and listening to the music in the beautiful setting. I wish you were here.
The park is an easy drive from Salzburg. For more details visit Salburg Freilchtmuseum == > http://www.freilichtmuseum.com
Friend’s Cats
Posted by: | CommentsWe stayed at friend’s house recently and they had these two cats. One did a great job at staring at me all the time, they other one didn’t move from the top of the chair. They were a riot.
Thanks for the joining us Lois!
Posted by: | CommentsGood times are always had at convention and this year was no exception. I love how Lois Folla captured it in writing. If you haven’t meet Lois, she is a blast. See Lois, I told you the cupcakes are to die for!
You can read the skinny on Lois’s blog.
My Home Office – NOT
Posted by: | CommentsOne of the highlights for me each year for Convention is seing the Stampin’ Up! Home Office and specifically – The Museum. It’s like a journey through IKEA for the stamping enthusiast. Beautiful every year. This year, this space was setup for a home office. Fellow demonstrator and cruiser, Debbie Makovec, looks at home doesn’t she?

Don’t be shy about stopping Amy or I in the halls. We would enjoy the opportunity to say thank you for your support and referrals throughout the year. Here’s a picture of us so you know who to look for.
4th of July Marketing Messages
Posted by: | Comments
Question for you. Are you sending out 4th of July celebration message to your customers? It’s Friday morning (July 2nd) and I’ve already received 5 emails from vendors and people who I’m on their mailing list.
And it feels odd.
It might be because I’m receiving these notices so early. We don’t really have a 4th of July season like we do with Christmas. Maybe because 4th of July falls on Sunday this year they won’t be in the office to send the emails, but there is a way to schedule the emails in advance.
But that’s not it.
4th of July seems very personal to me. I’m a patriotic person and I certainly like to celebrate this very fine holiday. We have our 4th of July rituals where we spend the day on our boat with friends. Make yummy cheese-stuffed hamburgers with all-American potato salad and chips. Sit around, sip a few beers and wait for nightfall so we can watch the fireworks over the water. Of course, we always feel very thankful for the life we are living and those who have helped to make it that way.
But…what does that have to do email marketing? I don’t want to hear from my vendors on this holiday unless they have a knock-your-socks off recipe or crafty decorations. And…they didn’t.
So back to my question. Am I reading this all wrong and being too cynical?
Are you in the Picture?
Posted by: | CommentsThis great article posted on the Pioneer Woman Blog made me think of my own shyness to be in the picture. But not anymore.
What changed for me was about 10 years ago. My Grandmother and I took a train trip across Canada. It was a FABULOUS trip and I have some really fond memories because every night we would journal our adventures through video recordings. Did I look wonderful in the video? No, far from it. But that’s me. I don’t wear makeup when I travel or fuss over my clothing and that was captured on video. And you know what?….I’m proud of it! I much rather BE in the experience and capture the moment just as I am.
This is a picture of my Mom and I at my favorite place – Disneyland. This picture was taken about a year before she died. I love this picture of us for so many reasons. I wouldn’t say it is the best picture of either of us. However, I forgot about our fondness for big sunglasses at the time and we both loved wearing pink. You forget those things unless you can see the picture.
But because I wasn’t shy I now have the video that I can watch over and over again and experience the fun again and again. Taking pictures of yourself and others captures life. What’s more important than that?

More Cruise Details
Posted by: | Comments
I’ve been getting questions about the Convention Cruise to Riverton. The most frequently asked questions so far is how does it work and can anyone come?
If you are joining us for the cruise to Riverton, we will meet you at the convention center. A seat will be waiting for you in our luxury, air-conditioned bus to take you for a whirlwind tour of Salt Lake City (1pm bus only). Trust us when we say you will arrive in style at the Riverton Office to explore the home office. You will have 1-1/2 hours to visit the office. Along the route we have games and prizes! Have you ever played New Product Bingo? It’s a great Open House crowd pleaser. We will give you all the instructions so you can entertain your customers when you get home.
Yes, at this point we have added a second bus and we do have open spots so all demonstrators and support staff are welcome to join us.
We only have 10 more seats available on the cruise. Feel free to forward this on to your demo buddies to join you by signing up at http://party.craftyperson.com.
Back from Vacation

Ireland and Italy were great. Although, I feel like I need a vacation from my vacation. The food, people and music were fabulous in Ireland. And we had great weather too…I know in Ireland! You should have seen all the fair Irish locals with sun burns. I of course, brought sweaters and a rain coat. Even though I didn’t bring a sun burn home with me, I do have a few Irish drinking songs that are stuck in my head now. Have you heard the No, Never, No More song? It’s fun and addicting. More details coming.
Kissing the Blarney Stone in Ireland
Posted by: | CommentsIt’s less than a day away for our trip to Ireland. I sure hope the volcano will be resting. It’s been off again, on again. Our itinerary is pretty full for 8 nights. We are driving an automatic based on a very good tip from fellow demonstrator and SUN Member, Sue Farrant.
We are touring what I call the south of Ireland but I am wrong in saying that. The area we are visiting is actually 4 different regions of Ireland.
- Kilkenny for 2 nights
- Killarney, County Kerry for 2 nights
- County Clare for 2 nights
- Dublin/Galway for 2 nights

Yes, we have a Castle stay for 1 night. That was the compromise Mike and I made. The castle is the Dromoland Castle. Located near Shannon, Dromoland Castle boasts an international reputation for excellence. I hope we can take a tour of the grounds in the horse-drawn buggy.

However, we have plans to visit many castles. On our tour is the Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Cahir Castle, and Kilkenny Castle. We decided against going to Blarney Castle and kissing the Blarney Stone. Why? Too touristy and we are short on time. There are so many other castles that are waiting for us.
Other notable stops: Cliffs of Moher, Dingle Peninsula, Dublin, Dunbrody Famine Ship, and Guinness Storehouse. We hope to be eating many of our meals at local pubs.

We have a side trip to Italy with family. We won’t be back until May 5th.
