Using Social Platform Apps to Share Content on Your Facebook Page
Posted by: | CommentsThere are many social networking applications and platforms that allow you to simultaneously post your links and feed news on Facebook (and other platforms, too). TweetDeck.com, HootSuite, Network Blogs, Sendible, and Scribd are five that come to mind. You can also use Facebook Notes to import your blog. (See more details about this below.)
But is it really better to resort to “automatic” posting?
How to Get Rid of Stik.com Application on Facebook
Posted by: | Comments
I have been bombarded by Stik.com wall posts. I find this application annoying because I would not recommend anyone unless I know them personally and if that is the case, contact me directly and I’m happy to oblige. I’m pretty picky, I don’t like any application posted from others on my wall. However, I do love just regular wall posts from friends and family, so I don’t want to restrict my wall privacy settings. If you have any involvement with this application and would like to get rid of it, here is how:
Using Facebook Groups as a Business Promotion Strategy
Posted by: | Comments
Facebook can be a great way for you to expand your professional network, provided you take care to manage your online persona. But there are other, less obvious, ways to use Facebook to boost your business and your career.
Facebook Frustrations
Posted by: | CommentsI was reminded today that Facebook is always evolving. Just today, I discovered that the create new DOC feature of Groups was removed from the wall status. It has been moved to the sidebar on the right under Create a Doc. I think this is a much better location, however, there was some frustration I experienced when I couldn’t find it right away. I keep myself up on latest updates too!
How to Use Facebook as a Page
Posted by: | CommentsOne major change has been made in the new Facebook format. You now have the option to “Use Facebook As Page”. What this means is you can log in as your page rather than as your personal profile. This opens up a whole new world. You can now post as a Page instead of only as a Profile.
Why Facebook is Good for your Health
Posted by: | CommentsI agree now. It took me a while to warm up to Facebook. This article really sunk in for me as I’m a techo-geek with limited social skills.
Here’s a quote from the Health.com article:
So, I like to think of Facebook as a high-tech way to replace low-tech social interactions, which in previous generations, I might have achieved with each trip to the grocery store or bank. I don’t see it as wasting hours of time online; I’m visiting a digital Bedford Falls, if you will, my online Walton’s Mountain.

Facebook recent update was a doozie. I’m still working on updating all the information I will be sharing with the Facebook Course members in the next couple of weeks. Some of the features are very helpful, others I’m still scratching my head about them.

Facebook Pages Q&A
Posted by: | CommentsFAQ Questions for Facebook
I received a couple of questions about my Facebook Page Article that I sent out to my Marketing & Technology Newsletter subscribers.
Q: Debbie- I read the info on the SU site following leadership and now I am worried I may be in violation on facebook. I created a profile page many months ago and have been using it to post my classes and what’s going on with SU. It sounds like I need to change to a business page, but if I understand this correctly I will no longer be able to invite my friends to the classes- is this correct?
Facebook Pages

There was a lot of hubbub after Leadership about Facebook Profiles vs Facebook Pages. Basically, Facebook profiles are a place where you interact with your friends and Facebook Pages is where you would communicate about your Stampin’ Up! business.
Stampin’ Up! has since added a Q&A section on the demo web site which I highly recommend that you read. I think they did a wonderful job at highlighting and answering a few questions that we all ask about how to promote our Stampin’ Up! business. Go now…log-in to the Stampin’ Up! demonstrator website and find the page here –>Home > Training > Social Media Training > Facebook Q&A.
