Want to share project inspiration with your customers, but not sure how or frustrated with the time it takes? Now it’s easier than ever to share your projects pictures or blog candy that I post here. I implemented a new tool on this blog that makes sharing pictures on your blog, DBWS and emails faster and easier.

Just use my Get HTML Page.

Here’s some instructions for the page:

Instructions:

A) Add your Image URL here.  This is a full picture URL starting with http://www.

B) Enter in where you would like the customer to be sent to when they click on the picture.

C) If you need to change the width of the picture, you can do that here.

D) This is the HTML code that is created based on the form information you entered. You would use the HTML code to add a graphic to a blog sidebar.

Instructions:

1. Login to Blogger
2. From the Dashboard, click on Layout
3. Click on Page Elements
4. Click on Add a Gadget at the top of the sidebar
5. From the list of available gadgets, choose HTML/JavaScript

6. In the next window that pops up, type in a Title, such as “Subscribe To My Newsletter” or “Sign-up for My Newsletter”
7. In the Content area, copy and paste the HTML/form code. Below is just sample for testing purposes and documentation purposes only (you should not use this code for your blog)

8. Then click on Save
9. Now the newly added gadget appears at the top of the sidebar. Although this is a prime location for your newsletter signup, you can click and drag it wherever you would like it in the sidebar
10. When finished, click on Save
11. And you’re done! It will look similar to the image below when you view your blog

ANOTHER OPTION
If you wanted to make the sign-up box more personalized, you can add your own greeting text, such as

To receive monthly stamping and scrapping tips, learn new stamping techniques, receive special coupons and stay informed about upcoming promotions, sign up for my newsletter by entering your name and email address below. Thank you!

This would be placed immediately above the start of your HTML code, right before and above the <form> statement. In this example, it would be place right above the line:

<form name=”form1″ method=”post” action=”websiteURL”>…..</form>

Again, remember to click Save to save your changes. It would then look like this (below) for example:

If you have a blog you will want to be updating your sidebars with linkable graphics. (Don’t forget to check out my Blog Candy every month). Although this is easy to do, it is easily forgotten as well since you only have to update the sidebars every once in a while. Below are step-by-step directions for importing the graphic into WordPress, Blogger and Typepad.

WordPress

1. In WordPress go to Appearance > Widgets or Dashboard, > Design > Widgets.
2. You will want to add a TEXT widget
3. Add the text widget first and then save it
4. Now EDIT the Text Widget
5. You will want to copy and paste the code into the text area and select CHANGE
6. Save Changes

Blogger

1. Login to Blogger
2. From the Dashboard, click on Layout
3. Click or go to Page Elements
4. Click Add a Gadget
5. Choose HTML/JavaScript from the list
6. Enter Title
7. Then in the large text box area you will copy and paste the HTML code
8. Save changes
9. Drag and drop where you want the new sidebar item
10. Save
11. You’re done!

Typepad

1. In Typepad go to Typelists (green tab)
2. Select the white text “Create a New Typelist“.
3. Choose NOTES from the List Type.
4. Enter a title for your sidebar item
5. Select Create New Typelist button
6. You can enter optional text in the Label
7. In the Notes section, copy and paste all the HTML Code
8. Save changes
9. Select Publish Tab
10. Then put a checkmark next to your weblog name and click Save Changes
11. Click on the blue text link “Content“. This brings you to the layout of your blog and the new item was most likely added to the bottom of your left sidebar. Click and drag where you want it to be.
12. Save changes
13. You’re done!
