Adding Linkable Graphics to WordPress Sidebar

By

If you have a blog you will want to be updating your sidebars with linkable graphics.   Although this is easy to do, it is easily forgotten as well since you only have to update the sidebars every once in a while.

My SUN Newsletter customers have been asking me to post the same graphics we use in my newsletters. Below are step-by-step directions for importing the Online Ordering graphic into WordPress.  I’ll add directions for blogger in the next couple days.   I will also post the graphics here monthly as well.  So stay tuned!

WordPress

  1. In WordPress go to Design > Widgets
  2. You will want to add a TEXT widget.  I know I don’t understand it either.
  3. Add the text widget first and then save it.
  4. Now EDIT the Text Widget
  5. You will want to copy and paste the code into the text area and select CHANGE
  6. SAVE CHANGES

That’s it!

Here’s the code.

<a href=”http://yourDBWSwebsite.com”><IMG src=”http://www.craftyperson.com/sun/images/buttons/onlineordering150.jpg” width=150 style=”height: 300px; border-width: 0px”>

It will look like this:

For the Holiday Winter MIni Catalog 2008 here is the code for US Demonstrators:

<a href=”http://www.stampinup.com/us/documents/HolidayMini_08_US.pdf”><IMG src=”http://www.stampinup.com/us/images/US_Holiday_08.jpg” width=150 style=”height: 268px; border-width: 0px; width: 175px;” alt=”Holiday Winter Mini Catalog 2008″></a>

For the Holiday Winter Mini Catalogue 2008 for Canadian Demonstrators:

<a href=”http://www.stampinup.com/ca/documents/HolidayMini_08_CAN.pdf”><IMG src=”http://www.stampinup.com/ca/images/CAN_Holiday_08.jpg” width=150 style=”height: 268px; border-width: 0px; width: 175px;” alt=”Holiday Winter Mini Catalogue 2008″></a>

If this was helpful, let me know by leaving me a comment.

That is helpful. Although I’m not a demonstrator I’m finding great content here. Thanks for this one tip. It saved me a great bit of time.
